Bone up on - διαβάζω πολύ
Π.χ.: Όταν προετοιμάζομαι για εξετάσεις
You should really bone up long before the examination day or you'll fail again.
Do away with - "πετάω" κάτι
Π.χ.: Ξεφορτώνομαι κάτι
Since you got this brand new device you can do away with this junk.
Π.χ.: Απορρίπτω κάτι
These tax laws should have been done away with since ages.
End up - καταλήγω
Teenagers should study hard at school to secure their future so as not to end up underpaid.
Figure out - κατανοώ τις πτυχές ενός θέματος
Π.χ.: Βρίσκω την αλήθεια
The detective figured out the true culprit of the crime.
Π.χ.: Ανακαλύπτω
I can't figure out how to assemble this furniture. Is there a manual?
Make do with - αποδέχομαι την δεύτερη επιλογή
Π.χ.: Την "βγάζω" με κάτι, αναγκαστικά.
While Mary was being pregnant she had to make do with tea while others were drinking alcohol.
Π.χ.: Συμβιβάζομαι με μια κατάσταση
The business administrator failled to plan properly so the company has to make do with less profit.
Goof off - "χαζεύω"
Π.χ.: Δεν συγκεντρώνομαι

Π.χ.: Καθυστερώ για να μην δουλεύω.

Make of - βγάζω νόημα

* 2η σημασία: αναθρέφω παιδιά. Τα μεγαλώνω, τα διαπαιδαγωγώ.
