Mike: Hey Josh! Look at this announcement. It's a job 

offer. I thought you may be interested in the position.
Josh: Oh, I sure am! A man of my profession and experience is what they need for this occupation. How did you come across the announcement?
Mike: I was reading the classified ads when I saw it.

apply - αιτούμαι

Josh: Well, thank you! I'm applying right away. Where should I hand in the application?
Mike: Their E-mail address is here. Your application must include your resume along with references and copies of your certificates.
Josh: I think I'll rewrite my CV and the names of my referees.
Mike: I hope the company invites you to an interview. 
Josh: Me too. I need a chance to present my qualifications personally.

A week later Mike gets an appointment for an interview.....

Interviewer: So, Mr. Salivan, thank you for accepting our invitation and arriving at our offices punctualy... As I read here you have been employed by X Inc. for the past five years.
Mike: Yes, that's right. I gained precious working experience alongside my previous employer. 
Interviewer: It seems as if your previous supervisor were an advocate of yours. His reference speaks for itself. What about your relationship with your former colleagues?
Mike: I've always had a stable relationship with my colleagues. I hold myself for a team player who can resolve disputes calmly.
Interviewer: So if all looked bright how did you lose the work placement?
Mike: Well, the company faced financial  straits so many employees were laid off as a measure to cut back on expenses so I was made redundant along with many others.

Interviewer: Well, Mr. Salivan. We are very interested in collaborating with you. As you know we are a renowned company on the field which embraces your profession, too.  As employers we set individual goals for every colleague and encourage him to exploit all his skills for optimal achievements. Further training is most important for us so we hope you come with aptitude for self-improvement.
 Mike: I do. I can assure you of that.
Interviewer: You can discuss all relevant details, such as salary, holidays and resignation procedure, with my personal assistant and then we shall move on and sign the contract.
